A summary of each project is given below

Establishment of the Parent Council -August to Sept 2007
Administrative issues such as the constitution and membership were completed.

Internet Safety & use of technology - Jan 2008
Brian McLaughlin held a presentation for parents on January 17th 2008. This was extremely informative and increased awareness on a number of key issues.

Holding a session for parents on how the school uses technology to support learning - April 2008
A session for parents/carers on the use of interactive whiteboards in the class room was held on the evening of 30th April 2008. This was well attended and the staff's time greatly appreciated as attendees found this very informative.

75th Anniversary Exhibition - May 2008
An open day and exhibition was held on 21st May 2008.During the evening exhibition, the whole school was open so that the public and ex-pupils could see, or re-visit all the classrooms. The atrium was filled with an exhibition which included displays from current pupils, as well as photos, memories and memorabilia from former pupils. The Parent Council, ably assisted by members of the PTA, collected and displayed the artifacts, photos and memories from ex-pupils. We also served the wine and juice refreshments, which were greatly appreciated! The Parent Council will continue to support and help the school with any further initiatives relating to the 75th anniversary. Please click here for more information on the 75th anniversary.

Class Sizes and Reclassification - May/June 2008
At its meeting in April, the Parent Council heard that from August 2008, the school would need to make a number of changes to the composition and size of the classes for pupils in primaries 1-3. These changes were taking place in the wider context of all local authorities having to cap or reduce their spending. The Parent Council supported the school as it faced these cuts by taking the actions set out in the following link - please click here.
The Parent Council remains concerned about these issues and it remains an on-going projoect.
