Minutes: March 11, 2009 at Netherlee Primary School

1.Minutes of previous meeting held January 28, 2009 approved.
2.Matters arising:
East Renfrewshire Forum for Parent Councils – 18 February Barrhead Ailsa provided the following feedback from this event
- Parental involvement strategy is being reviewed, due to complete by November 2009
- ERC officers are interested in activities that involve parents, children and staff
- Some PC’s are using sub groups as a way of involving more parents
- Some PC’s are involved in preparing quality improvement plan
- Mearns Castle has a good website( www.ea.e-renfrew.sch.uk/mearnscastle/)
Ailsa reported that there is £550 in the NPC budget. It was agreed that these funds would be vired to the school to buy printer ink before year end.
Ailsa requested an update on which PC members had been trained in the ERC recruitment process. To date 4 members, Ailsa, Vivien, Val and Tim have been trained. Any other members interested in the training should contact Ailsa.

4. Update on PC Projects
The children have been involved in designing healthy eating posters. Each class chose a best poster and a small group then chose 1 poster from each year. The posters will be displayed in the corridors.
Netherlee has submitted an application for a health and wellbeing award a decision is due on 16 March.
There is potential to hold a series of events throughout a week in September. Shona, Tim and Liz said they would be willing to help.
Liz reported that the number of helpers is increasing. Lesly Palmer, the active schools co-ordinator has a budget of £300 that could be used.

Sandra reported that the school were in the process of buying more technology such as video cameras.
