1. Welcome and introduction

Ailsa Crum, current chair, welcomed those members of the parent forum who had attended in addition to existing PC members. There was discussion about:

      - the nature and purpose of the PC

      - work the PC had been involved in during 2007-08 and work planned for 2008-09.

In particular, it was emphasised that the PC website (which can be accessed via the school  website) was a source of information for parents and carers. It includes an email address which  can be used to contact the PC and pass on views or ideas.

2. Nomination of new members
All those present were encouraged to stay for the PC business meeting and to consider joining  the PC, and/or to become involved with one of its sub-groups. Parents were reminded that they  can self-nominate without the need for election or completing forms.  All interested parents and  carers are welcome to become involved.

3. Election of office bearers

The following office bearers were elected for 2008-09:

      Chair - Ailsa Crum

      Vice-Chair - Karen Hussain

Treasurer and Webmaster - Sue McMillan

Val Graham, who was thanked for her work with the PC over the last year, was standing down  from her role as Minutes Secretary but would remain in membership of the PC. Prior to the  meeting, Steve Galloway had indicated that he would stand down as Vice-Chair but would  remain a member of the PC.

There were no nominations for a Secretary and it was agreed that an advert would be placed  in the next school newsletter.
